The Genome Editing Laboratory obtained and described the induced pluripotent stem cell line of a cystic fibrosis patient

Researchers of the FSBI RCMG Genome Editing Laboratory (headed by S.A.Smirnikhina, Candidate of med.sci.) obtained the culture of stem cells from fibroblasts of a 27-year-old patient with cystic fibrosis with F508del homozygous mutation in the CFTR gene. The European Register of Human Stem Cells registered the cell line (hPSCreg). Laboratory researchers plan to use it to develop personalized cystic fibrosis treatment, including genome editing, as well as to model the disease and evaluate the drugs effect.

Stem Cell Research (Q1, Impact-factor 4,489) published the results of their work.
