Researchers of Academician N.P. Bochkov Research Centre for Medical Genetics took part in the 19th International Symposium of Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Foundation

G.E. Rudenskaya (the Research and Counselling Department), V.A. Kadnikova, and O.P. Ryzhkova (the DNA-Diagnostics Laboratory), the researchers of Academician N.P. Bochkov Research Centre for Medical Genetics, took part in the 19th International Symposium of Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Foundation, presenting the poster paper "Hereditary Spastic Paraplegias in Russian Families" based on 120 families with DNA-diagnosed forms of the disease (SPG). Leading European experts such as G. Stevanin, S. Klebe, R. Schüle, C. Depienne attended the Symposium. Molecular mechanisms of SPG, approaches to pathogenetic therapy, new forms, assessment of motor and neuropsychological functions in patients, etc. were discussed.

Due to the epidemiological situation, the symposium was online. The Foundation website will publish all materials, including poster presentations.
