Our participation in the XII Scientific Conference "Human Genetics and Pathology: Actual Problems of Clinical and Molecular Cytogenetics".

On November 20-22, 2019, the XII Scientific Conference “Human Genetics and Pathology: Actual Problems of Clinical and Molecular Cytogenetics” was held in Tomsk. The Conference was dedicated to the memory of Professor Sergei Andreyevich Nazarenko, Corresponding Member of RAMS.
About 300 doctors and researchers in medical genetics attended the Conference, accredited in the Continuing medical education system (NMO).

The scientific meetings considered and discussed a wide range of relevant aspects of human cytogenetics in the genomic and post-genomic era, including clinical cytogenetics, cytogenetics of developmental and reproductive disorders, prenatal and preimplantation diagnostics of chromosomal diseases, cytogenetic monitoring of mutagenic effects, epigenetics, extra chromosomal heredity and multifactorial human diseases.

V.L. Izhevskaya, Doctor of med.sci., Deputy Director for Research, Chairperson of the Russian Society of Medical Genetics (ROMG) welcomed the participants at the opening of the Conference, as well as made a report: “Ethical problems in the use of genomic technologies in clinical practice.”
The FBSI RCMG Cytogenetics Laboratory researchers (Lab Head is N.V. Shilova, Doctor of medical science) made oral presentations:
N.V. Shilova "Interpretation of clinically relevant CNV"
M.E.Minzhenkova "Etiopathogenesis of an abnormal phenotype in de novo balanced chromosome rearrangements"
Zh.G. Markova "Structural heterogeneity of small supernumerary marker chromosomes.”
A.A. Tarlycheva “Identification and meiotic segregation of small supernumerary marker chromosomes in men without phenotype anomalies”
V.B. Chernykh (Doctor of medical science, Head of the Reproductive Disorders Genetics Laboratory) made a presentation “Cytogenetic examination of patients with reproductive disorders associated with chromosome abnormalities”

About 300 doctors and researchers working in medical genetics attended the Conference, accredited in the continuing medical education system (NMO).

Leading Russian experts in cytogenetics gave plenary lectures, conducted schools and master classes on modern technologies of molecular and genetic diagnostics, and associated scientific symposia. An exhibition of laboratory and medical equipment, supplies and medicines used in research, diagnosis and treatment of hereditary diseases was held.
