International Сonference in Almaty Dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of the Scientific Center for Paediatrics and Pediatric Surgery

Almaty hosted the International scientific and practical conference «Paediatrics of Kazakhstan: yesterday, today, tomorrow» on October 6-7, 2022. It was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Scientific Center for Paediatrics and Pediatric Surgery.

The conference was organized by the Scientific Center for Paediatrics and Paediatric Surgery with the support of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Union of Paediatricians of Kazakhstan.

The main goal of the conference is discussion of issues and exchange of experience on preservation and improvement of children’s health, organization of high-quality medical services, discussion of topical issues of diagnostics and therapy of diseases in childhood.

The scientific programme of the conference included thematic sessions devoted to topical problems of paediatrics and neonatology, paediatric surgery, modern issues of diagnostics and treatment of orphan diseases, modern technologies for diagnostics and treatment of oncological and haematological diseases.

The conference was attended by paediatricians from all regions of Kazakhstan as well as delegates from Belarus, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Czech Republic, leading specialists and heads of scientific institutes, professors of medical universities.

Elena Kondratyeva, Head of scientific clinical department for cystic fibrosis at RCMG, Holder of an Advanced Doctorate in Medical Sciences, professor, gave a report: «Cystic Fibrosis: Diagnostics and Treatment», shared her experience in organizing medical care for patients with cystic fibrosis in the Russian Federation, conducted consultations for children in the pulmonology department of the Scientific Center for Paediatrics and Paediatric Surgery.

Within the framework of the conference, Elena Kondratyeva met with the Chairman of the Board of the JSC «Scientific Center of Paediatrics and Paediatric Surgery» of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Abay Kusainov, on the results of which the parties decided to continue the collaboration.
