IХ International Educational Consensus on Respiratory Medicine in Pediatrics
On January 17-18, 2020, the IX International Educational Consensus on Respiratory Medicine in Pediatrics took place in Ivanovo
The event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences in application of modern methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases in children, and created the basis for further professional contacts promoting and the quality of medical care improving.
The Consensus gathered more than 100 pediatricians from different regions of Russia and the CIS countries.
Prof. E.I.Kondratieva, Dr. med. sci., Head of Cystic Fibrosis Research and Clinical Department, attended the event and made an oral presentation: “Clinical recommendations and national consensus on cystic fibrosis: what has changed?”. E.I.Kondratieva told that the Department researchers prepared clinical recommendations in 2016, and assisted in revision thereof in December 2019. Changes were made to the sections for the disease diagnosing and antibiotic therapy, taking into account the experience in providing medical care and prevention of cross infection.
The report aroused great interest. The panellists noted the need to create new and update any published clinical recommendations and guidelines.
The Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Issues of Respiratory Medicine in Pediatrics: Steps towards a Healthy Childhood" was held as part of the Consensus. The participants discussed new scientific ideas and directions in respiratory medicine, educational technologies and software for doctors, and ethics issues in pediatrics.
On January 18, a round table on targeted therapy took place, where Professor Kondratieva, being a moderator and reporter, shared her first successful experience in using targeted therapy in children in the Russian Federation.
