MGNGS’19 Conference held in Suzdal on 24-26 April 2019

The fourth International Scientific and Practical Conference "NGS in Medical Genetics 2019" (http://ngs.med-gen.ru/mgngs19/) was held between 24 and 26 April in Suzdal. The Russian Foundation for Basic Research supported the Conference (Contract No. 19-015-20040).

Scientists, doctors and bioinformatics from Russia, CIS countries and the United States, engaged in massive parallel sequencing, attended the Conference. This year, more than 200 people from 13 cities of 4 countries and 51 institutions have participated in the Conference.

The Conference discussed the use of NGS in the diagnosis of monogenic diseases, oncogenetics, cardiology, DTI, as well as bioinformatics analysis of NGS data.        

This year, along with traditional scientific presentations and workshops, such innovations as “minute” reports - short reports with a small discussion of the results – have been introduced. This format has allowed abandoning a large poster session and the conference participants have

A round table discussion focused on the second version of the Interpretative Guide on Data Obtained by Massive Parallel Sequencing (MPS). The NGS diagnostics is developing rapidly, and participants agreed on the need for an annual review of this basic document to interpret the options and draw conclusions.
