The XI All-Russian Patient Congress "Vector of Development: Patient-centered Healthcare" took place at the end of November

The XI All-Russian Congress of patients "Vector of Development: Patient-centered Healthcare" was held with support of the Russian Ministry of Health and the All-Russian Union of Patients on November 26-29, 2020. The Congress discussed a great number of issues related to orphan diseases, treatment, diagnostics, and accessibility to patients.

The FSBI RCMG researchers presented cross-sectoral reports.

Sergey Ivanovich Kutsev, Doctor of medical science and RAS Corresponding Member, Director of FSBI RCMG, made a presentation "Genetics service in Russia today. Development Prospects" at the round table "Prospects of genetic therapy application in clinical practice".

Ekaterina Yurievna Zakharova, Doctor of medical science, Head of the Hereditary Metabolic Diseases Laboratory and the Selective Screening Laboratory, presented a report "Options for formation of medical care system for patients with orphan diseases" at the round table "Issues of providing medical care for patients with orphan diseases". In addition, Ekaterina Yurievna made a report “Gaucher disease. New in diagnostics and therapy.”

Kadyshev Vitaly Viktorovich, Candidate of med.sci., senior researcher of the Genetic Epidemiology Laboratory  (headed by Dr. R. A. Zinchenko) presented a report "Hereditary retinal diseases - clinical and epidemiological aspects in Russia" at the round table "Issues of medical care for patients with eye diseases".

All presentations by the FSBI RCMG researchers aroused high interest of the audience and a lively discussion.
