FSBI RCMG team – the participants of Cystic Fibrosis Conference

Cystic Fibrosis (Clinical Picture, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Clinical Examination), the Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference was held on March 22 and 23, 2019 in Orenburg with the support of the Ostrova Charitable Foundation.

Doctors of various specialties attended the conference: pulmonologists, general practitioners, psychologists, pediatricians, microbiologists, nutritionists, hospital management, and the health department representatives.

The presentations addressed various issues arising in the process of working with patients. They focused on the issues of care for sick adults, psychological support for patients, and microbiological diagnosis.

Head the FSBI RCMG Cystic Fibrosis Research and Clinical Department Prof. Kondratieva E.I. made a presentation “Cystic fibrosis, the main issues of diagnosis, treatment and clinical examination.” Kondratieva E.I. spoke about new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of the disease in Russia, owing to modern clinical guidelines for the cystic fibrosis microbiological diagnosis, as outlined in the second issue of the National Consensus.

On the first day, the doctors were acquainted with the hospital work arrangement. They focused on the discussion of antibacterial and enzyme therapy tactics.

The second day was devoted to the meeting of doctors and parents of children with cystic fibrosis, analysis of the drug supply problem, possibilities of targeted therapy and microbiological diagnostics.

Kondratieva E.I. and Voronkova A.Yu. (Candidate of medical science, senior researcher of the FSBI RCMG Cystic Fibrosis Research and Clinical Department) have examined and consulted patients whose treatment raised a number of questions, as well as analyzed medical records to resolve the issue of further DNA-diagnostics.
