Data on MicroRNA in Gastric Cancer Development was analyzed

The article discusses data on MicroRNA in Gastric Cancer Development (GC). In the study, a circuit of microRNA interactions with signaling pathways was constructed: microRNA effect on several target genes, as well as on genes linked with several pathways that leads to different functional consequences. The microRNAs, associated with metastasis and chemoresistance, are described. It was found that MicroRNAs effect on the Wnt/β-catenin pathway most often leads to metastasis. MicroRNAs affecting chemoresistance, in most cases, regulate the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. Candidates for GC biomarkers based on microRNA expression were identified and their characteristics were analyzed.
