Teamwork of the SCD for Cystic Fibrosis Devoted to the Research on Vitamin D Levels in Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Was Published

Employees of the scientific clinical department for cystic fibrosis at the Research Centre for Medical Genetics in collaboration with the Scientific Research Institute for Childhood of the Ministry of Healthcare of Moscow Oblast, First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, Stavropol State Medical University and Krasnoyarsk State Medical University named after professor V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky conducted a comparative study of the level of vitamin D in children and adolescents with juvenile idiopathic arthritis and peer control group.

The paper examined the influence of endogenous, exogenous and genetic factors on the level of vitamin D in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Vitamin D levels in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis have been shown to be unaffected by neither clinical treatments nor the presence of polymorphisms in the VDR gene (the gene encoding the vitamin D receptor).

The results of the work were published in the article «Vitamin D Status Among Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: a Multicenter Prospective, Non-randomized, Comparative Study» in the top-ranked American journal «Frontiers in Paediatrics» (ИФ - 3,569, Q1).
