Scientific Conference «Bronchiectasis: Cystic Fibrosis and Not Only…» in Surgut

February 15-17, 2023 in Surgut - the largest city of the Khanty-Mansiyskiy Autonomous Okrug - Ugra held a scientific conference «Bronchiectasis: Cystic Fibrosis and Not Only...» a key objective of which is to organize the diagnostics of diseases associated with bronchiectasis.

The event was organized by the department of Healthcare and the department of education and science of the Khanty-Mansiyskiy Autonomous Okrug-Ugra, the Budgetary Institution of Higher Education of the Khanty-Mansiyskiy Autonomous Okrug-Ugra «Surgut State University», All-Russian Public Organization «Russian Society of Medical Geneticists», NMRC for Pulmonology, Research Centre for Medical Genetics, SBIH MO “Scientific Research Clinical Institute for Childhood” of the Ministry of Healthcare of Moscovskaya Oblast with the support of the Charity Fund «Ostrova» and the journal «Pulmonology».

At the opening of the conference, Elena Kondratyeva, professor, the head of the scientific clinical department for cystic fibrosis at RCMG, made a welcoming speech, which presented a report on the diagnostics of primary ciliary dyskinesia.

Elena Zhekayte, PhD, senior researcher of the scientific clinical department for cystic fibrosis at RCMG, has given several reports on the diagnostics of cystic fibrosis, antibacterial therapy in cystic fibrosis during the outpatient stage, substitution therapy with pancreatic enzymes, on the experience of targeted therapy in paediatrics and the organization of measures to prevent cross-infection among patients with bronchiectasis.

On the days of the conference consultations of patients by specialized specialists were organized, as well as a school for parents of patients with cystic fibrosis.

The leaders of the conference were Sergey Avdeev, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, director of the National Medical Research Institute for Pulmonology», head of the pulmonology department of the Institute of Clinical Medicine named after N.V. Sklifosovsky at First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, chief external expert in pulmonology of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, Elena Kondratyeva, professor, head of the scientific clinical department for cystic fibrosis at RCMG, head of the department of the respiratory system diseases genetics in IHSPE at RCMG, Sergey Kutsev, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, director of RCMG, chief external expert in medical genetics of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, chairman of the specialized commission on medical genetics of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, president of the Association of Medical Geneticists of Russia.
