The Staff of RCMG’s Scientific and Clinical Department for Cystic Fibrosis Met with the Representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan on May 12, 2022

Elena Kondratyeva, Head of the scientific and clinical department for cystic fibrosis at the Research Centre for Medical Genetics, Professor, Holder of an advanced doctorate in Medical Sciences, met with Almir Abashev, First Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, with Farida Yarkaeva, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, and with Gulnara Gaifullina, Head of the Medical and Preventive Care Directorate of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan. New clinical recommendations on cystic fibrosis, on primary ciliary dyskinesia, issues of medical care for patients with cystic fibrosis were discussed at the meeting. Elena Kondratieva shared the experience of organising a cystic fibrosis centre in the Moscow region. 

The meeting was attended by Ayrat Ziatdinov, Head Physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital for Children of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rafael Shavaliev, Head Physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, Lilia Basanova, Deputy Head Physician on Medicine of the Republican Clinical Hospital for Children of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, Oxana Pyaterkina, Chief Pulmonologist for Children of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, Olga Karpova, Head of the Pulmonary Department of the Republican Clinical Hospital for Children of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, Head of cystic fibrosis centre. 

The meeting was held within the framework of the conference «Bronchoectasis: cystic fibrosis and not only...». 

Employees of the Research Centre for Medical Genetics gave the reports during the conference for doctors and also met with patients and parents of children with cystic fibrosis within the “School for Cystic Fibrosis”. Those were Elena Kondratyeva, Professor, Holder of an advanced doctorate in Medical Sciences, Anna Voronkova, PhD, Leading Researcher of the scientific and clinical department for cystic fibrosis at RCMG, Tatyana Maksimycheva, PhD, Senior Researcher of the scientific and clinical department for cystic fibrosis at RCMG.

Employees of the department advised 30 children with cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia and bronchoectasis, conducted blood sampling for DNA diagnostics, sputum for microbiological examination of the respiratory tract’s microflora and brush-biopsy of the ciliated epithelium for transmissive electron microscopy during the visit.
