The Laboratory focuses on molecular genetic diagnosis

of patients with suspected hereditary disease and congenital syndromes,

family members of patients with monogenic hereditary abnormality,

and possible carriers of monogenic hereditary diseases.

Objectives and Functions of the Laboratory

  • Molecular-genetic analyses
  • Assistance to physicians-geneticists in compiling an algorithm for molecular genetic examination and the diagnosis interpretation.
  • Improvement of the existing new technologies of molecular-genetic diagnostics and implementation in practice thereof.
  • Training and development of staff and specialists in the field of medical genetics and related disciplines based on modern scientific equipment.

Accessible Diagnostic Methods:

  • Polymerase chain reaction, multiplex ligase reaction, analysis of restriction fragment length polymorphism with visualization of results in a polyacrylamide gel.
  • Direct Sanger Automatic Sequencing
  • Quantitative ligase reaction
  • QF-PCR
  • Mass parallel sequencing (NGS)
